City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 11, 2006 <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />the September 27, 2006 City Council meeting minutes as presented. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />V. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> <br />1.City of Centerville September 28, 2006 through October 4, 2006 Claims <br />st <br /> <br />2.Change Order – 21 Avenue/Backage Road <br /> <br />3.Authorize Staff and Council Members to Attend League of Cities Regional <br />Meeting in St. Paul <br />4. Extension of Parks & Recreation Committee Recommendation to Allow <br />Centennial Youth Hockey Association’s Use of Laurie LaMotte Park Hockey <br />Rink (Dry Land Training) <br />5. Centennial Lakes Police Department Claims September 15-30, 2006 and October <br />1-12, 2006 <br /> <br />Engineer Statz explained that Item 2 would extend the completion for the blacktop in that <br />project. He then explained that the contractor has asked for an increase in blacktop prices <br />but Staff informed him that was not okay and it sounds like he wants to move ahead yet <br />this year. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Paar, to <br />approve the Consent Agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated there was a nice article in the Quad regarding the flag at the <br />Police Department building. She then said that she heard from someone who was upset <br />that there would not be a flag on the building and she explained that things were removed <br />because they were over budget on the building and said that the Commission pulled it <br />reluctantly and had no intention of leaving it undone but they wanted to see if someone <br />would pick it up as a project and that was done. <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />st <br /> <br />1. Change Order – 21 Avenue/Backage Road <br /> <br />Engineer Statz explained that the contractor has informed Staff that there would be an <br />increase in price for blacktopping next year and Staff informed them that was not what <br />was in the change order. If the change order is approved it would allow them to do it this <br />year or next year but it does not force them to do it next year. He then said that if it can <br />be done this year then all standard tests would need to be met. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee said that he is concerned if it was too soggy to do it last week so he <br />is concerned about the quality of road that the City will receive. <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />
