CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> OCTOBER 25, 2006 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting on October 25, 2006, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />Mayor Mary Capra <br /> Council Member Richard Terway <br /> Council Member Michelle Lakso <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> Council Member Tom Lee <br /> Council Member Jeff Paar <br /> <br />STAFF: <br />City Engineer, Mr. Mark Statz <br /> City Administrator Mr. Dallas Larson <br /> City Attorney, Mr. Kurt Glaser <br /> <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Capra called the October 25, 2006, City Council meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra noted that Council Member Paar lost his father on Saturday and offered <br />condolences to him and his family on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />II. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />1. Consideration of Establishing an EDA <br /> <br />Mayor Capra opened the public hearing at 6:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Terway, to close <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />Erick Marshall of 1580 Sorel Street asked what an Economic Development Authority is. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson provided an explanation of what an Economic Development <br />Authority is and what establishment of an EDA may include. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated the City is considering forming an EDA as an extra tool to assist <br />the City with the property involved with the backage road construction. She also <br />explained that the entire Council and two residents would serve on the EDA. <br /> <br />Ms. Lynae Marshall questioned the difference between a committee and an authority. <br />
