<br />The proposed trail will be signed as a non-motorized trail to avoid noise, prevent pollution and <br />limit the speed of people and objects on the trail, to ensure safety of the users. Where <br />appropriate, screens of vegetation will be planted to block the view and reduce sound. <br /> <br />With this trail, areas will be cleaned up and become more attractive. Property values will likely <br />nse. <br /> <br />A new Dairy Queen was recently built on the west side of the freeway. This trail would provide a <br />safe access for people living on the east side of the freeway and increase their business. <br /> <br />No exotic or ecologically detrimental plantings will be used and where possible native <br />Minnesota species will be used. <br /> <br />16 Interpretive Opportunities <br /> <br />· Does this project include some interpretive component? <br />· If not, is there any potential in the future? <br />. What would be the themes? <br /> <br />Interpretive signs at strategic points are possible. Centerville has a rich history and several <br />locations could indicate some of that history. For example, Centerville had one of the first <br />trading posts in the area and that location and others could be highlighted. The theme would <br />describe the early days of trading and how Centerville got its name - it was the center of Anoka, <br />Stillwater, and 81. Paul and provided a rest stop for travelers going to and from those locations. <br />Another possible theme could center on plants in the area. The trail passing fields, creeks, and <br />woods could offer a variety of environments to describe. <br /> <br />26 <br />
