The City of Lino Lakes is committed to work with the
Cities ofCenterville and Hugo to complete the Clearwater Trail Connection Project.

City staff has met with several interested parties the past several years to identify possible
solutions to connect the existing trail system in the City of Centerville with the trail segment that
exists in Hugo. Approval ofthe Clearwater Trail Grant Application is a critical step to connect
the two established trail systems. The City ofLino Lakes has worked with the Anoka County
Parks and Recreation Department to provide trail connections to the existing Rice Creek Chain
of Lakes Park Reserve Trail System. Completion of the Clearwater Trail Project would provide
our residents with safe pedestrian/bicycle access to the beautiful Hardwood Creek Trail.

In closing, the City of Lino Lakes is very much in support of Centerville's submittal of the
Clearwater Trail Grant Application. The City of Lino Lakes has committed to work the several
entities to insure this important and critical trail connection becomes a reality.

RD:sw

sw/ricklClearwater Trail Grant Application - Letter of Support to DNR.doc

:]'6
