Application as submitted by the City of Centerville. As in the past, Anoka County will work with the' cities
of Centerville, Lino Lakes, and others to support the trail connection to one of the county's most popular
regional parks - Rice Creek Chain-of-Lakes Regional Park Reserve.

The county has recently worked with the City of Centerville on a trail connection to link Lamotte Park with
the regional park. From this existing trail, the proposed trail route would head east toward the Hardwood
Creek Regional Trail in Hugo. The connection that would be provided by the Clearwater Trail project
would benefit visitors to the Rice Creek Chain-of-Lakes Regional Park Reserve by providing the
opportunity to connect with other trails leading to Forest Lake and eventually beyond. This trail proposal
would also allow people multi modal access to the park. It would provide for a safe route for youth and
children as well.

Anoka County has. been aware of the possibility of this connection and has worked with Centerville and
othe to include the route in our system-wide trail planning efforts. The Clearwater Trail would be a
grea nhancement to the immediate communities and the metropolitan area.

ays, I appreciate your favorable review of this project.

3~
