<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 29, 2006 <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the Burschville Construction pay request would be <br />the last one until next spring. City Engineer Statz added that accounts would typically be <br />settled over the winter months. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso inquired about Change Order #1 for $9,611.16 regarding <br />installation of utilities and street on Old Mill Road. City Engineer Statz responded that <br />the description was wrong and a change order was rewritten for valve replacements on <br />County Road 54. He then said the chart needed to be corrected. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee. seconded by Council Member Lakso. to approve <br />Pay Request #4. Burschville Construction (Backa!!:e Road / 21st Avenue <br />Improvements) for $273.699.56. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee inquired as to additional money required for the ballpark estimate. <br />Council Member T erway noted that the original contract was revised from $1.18 million <br />to $1.31 million. City Engineer Statz responded that the opinion was to err on the <br />conservative side. <br /> <br />2. Erick Marshall, 1688 Sorel Street - Request for Lot Split, Planning and Zoning <br />Report and Recommendation <br /> <br />Mayor Capra commended staff and planning members for holding firm on the <br />redevelopment plan. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson displayed the current parcel map and stated that it would be <br />good to put a final stamp of approval on this as the applicant planned to sell. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee. seconded by Council Member Terway. to approve <br />the lot split request from Erick Marshall. 1688 Sorel Street. as recommended by the <br />Plannin!!: and Zonin!!: Commission. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Anoka County Economic Development Authority (EDA) Exploration Committee <br /> <br />Mayor Capra described the City's past history with regard to EDAs and reported on <br />receipt of an invitation from Anoka County to participate in the exploration of creating <br />one. She noted concern regarding authority, control of projects, and taxation if one was <br />created. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee said he perceived there had been similar discussion four years <br />previously. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated concern that Centerville would not have a say if it did not participate <br />in some form. Council Member T erway concurred. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee said that if Anoka County was looking to create an EDA for taxing <br />authority, he would be vehemently opposed to it. <br /> <br />Page 8 of 16 <br /> <br />J <br />
