<br />The EMPLOYER and the UNION agree to jointly promote safe and healthful working <br />conditions, to cooperate in safety matters, and to encourage employees to work in a <br />safe manner. <br /> <br />Employees covered by this AGREEMENT shall adhere to, when practical, all safety <br />rules and practices established by the City and shall be responsible to enforce safety <br />and environmental rules and regulations related to their work site or activity. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XIX - JOB POSTING <br /> <br />19.1 The EMPLOYER and the UNION agree that permanent job vacancies within the <br />designated bargaining unit shall be filled based on the concept of promotion from <br />within provided that applicants: <br /> <br />19.1.1 Have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job <br />vacancy; and <br /> <br />19.1.2 have the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job <br />vacancy. <br /> <br />19.2 Employees filling a higher job class based on the provisions of this ARTICLE <br />shall be subject to the conditions of ARTICLE XVII (PROBATIONARY <br />PERIODS). <br /> <br />19.3 The EMPLOYER has the right of final decision in the selection of employees <br />to fill posted jobs based on qualifications, abilities and experience. <br /> <br />19.4 Job vacancies within the designated bargaining unit will be posted for five (5) <br />working days so that members of the bargaining unit can be considered for <br />such vacancies. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XX - INSURANCE <br />See Appendix B. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XXI - HOLIDAYS <br /> <br />21.1 The EMPLOYER will provide eleven (11) paid holidays. The holidays will be <br />designated as follows: <br /> <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />President's Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Fourth of July <br />Labor Day <br /> <br />Veteran's Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Day <br />One (1) Floating Holiday * <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />43 <br />
