<br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she was going to be meeting with the Administrators from <br />those cities and indicated she would discuss the matter with them. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra requested that Staff send a copy of the letter to Jane Krantz. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg directed Staff to draft a letter in support ofMr. Ryden's letter and copy <br />Senator Krantz, and Representative Vandevere. <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Budget/Deferred Comp.lUnion Contract (Update) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Teresa had faxed over almost all of the documents <br />requested by the auditor this morning. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked Ms. Moore-Sykes to contact the auditor to determine the <br />timeframe for completion of the project and a ballpark dollar amount for the City's <br />contribution. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra questioned whether the City has to cover the employee portion. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson explained that the City is responsible per the IRS for paying the <br />taxes and can then attempt to obtain the money from its employees. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she would find out the timeframe and ask for a ballpark <br />figure. <br /> <br />2. Vinco Overages (Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes handed out a letter she had received from Vinco outlining how they <br />had arrived at the calculation of the per cubic yard charge and requesting final payment. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated he has reviewed the calculation and found it to be appropriate. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Capra to authorize the final payment to ViDeo. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated that the contractor lucked out because this was a huge <br />overrun and he wishes that the City would have known about it and attempted to adjust <br />the price to stop the overage. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked if the City could legally challenge the price. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated the City could legally challenge the price if it wished but <br />noted it may cost the City more money that it would save. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 10 <br />
