<br />Truth-in- Taxation and Levy Limit Schedule <br />For taxes levied in 2001, Payable in 2002 <br /> <br />Note: TNT hearing, advertising, and posting requirements are optional <br />for this year only. <br /> <br />On or before Sept. 1 Dept. of Revenue notifies cities of LGA amounts. <br />On or before Sept. 1 Dept. of Revenue certifies the payable 2002 overall levy <br /> limitation to each city over 2,500 population. <br />On or before Sept. 28 Cities over 2,500 population (levy limit cities) notify the Dept. of <br /> Revenue of their "special levy" claims for payable 2002 on PT <br /> Form 280. <br />On or before Sept. 14 Cities certify proposed property tax levy to county auditor and <br /> adopt proposed budget. <br />On or before Dec. 10 Dept of Revenue certifies the allowable "special levies" to levy <br /> limit cities. The Department's determination is final.
