Sidewalks are getting fixed, the tennis court is
getting installed, and many other things are being done too. I think Gorem
has responded to things we've complained to Swift about for months.

Before Jim March left, I had talked with him about a few issues. I'd like
to pass them on to you, although they are city citizen safety issues rather
than Eagle Pass issues.
1. If the city would install a short bike/hiking path between the curve on
Ojibway and the eastern dead-end of Heritage St., then people could get from
the areas east of Centerville Road to the new Wheels Park and the
bike/hiking trails around Centerville lake and the Rice Creek Wildlife area
without trying to avoid the traffic while riding on Centerville Road or Main
Street. As you must know, the traffic is getting worse and worse, and I fear
that we'll have an accident, especially now that the Wheels Park attracts
kids on bikes and in-line skates. The area next to 1759 Ojibway and the
dead-end of Heritage can easily accommodate such a trail.
2. With the population increase in the area, the speed limits on Main Street
(Hwy. 14) between 20th St. and the Eastern border of Centerville should be
lowered to 30 mph. One of my neighbors was almost killed this morning by a
driver swerving to avoid another car on Main Street just by City Hall. One
can legally drive too fast in this area. I'm sure the county would not
ob' ct if the city put up 30 mph signs there. It is a residential street!
. The lighting on Dupre is dangerous, and someone will be injured there if
added street lights are not installed.

Bert Casper bertcasper@qwest.net
651-429-7662
6979 Eagle Trail Centerville, MN 55038

! / [.1"
{f~'"
I

:.-~ I

/'
,). ~

I I.
