<br />E-Mailed to Council on 5/3/01 at 11:34 a.m. <br />Apri125, 2001 Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Capra to <br />approve Consent Agenda Items 1 and 2 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />XIII. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Council Member Capra reported that in her capacity as City Historian, she attended the <br />Around the County Meeting at the Anoka County Historical Society. She then noted the <br />Historical Society would be moving into the Anoka County Library. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if the therapeutic massage business was still interested in coming <br />to Centerville. Mr. March stated he had received no formal application and the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission may amend the current ordinance or create an ordinance to <br />cover therapeutic massage for future use. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers reported several Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Members had attended a training seminar and felt it was very informative. Council <br />Member Broussard Vickers stated that she had given Mr. March the information obtained <br />at the seminar to distribute to those that desired reviewing same. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg reported that the Police Commission is interviewing candidates for an <br />officer position. Mayor Swedberg stated that the physical/fitness examinations had been <br />completed and the oral interviews were scheduled for May 5, 2001. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis reported that the Economic Development Committee (EDC) <br />meeting had been re-scheduled for April 26, 2001. <br /> <br />XIV. ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that the League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference was upcoming <br />and requested that those who desired to participate inform him of same. <br /> <br />Mr. March submitted a letter from the Anoka County Assessor's Office revealing the <br />results of the Board of Review proceedings. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member <br />Capra to accept the findings of the Board of Review. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. March reported he had received a copy of the response from Mrs. Turcotte's attorney <br />received by Mr. Hoeft. Mr. March requested that Mr. Hoeft discuss this issue. <br /> <br />Mr. Hoeft stated that Mrs. Turcotte desired $139,900 for the property in question rather <br />than $139,000 as previously understood by the City. Mrs. Turcotte's attorney has also <br />requested that the City pay the costs usually attributed to the seller in a real estate <br />transaction.
