It is time to start planning the annual Earth Day <br />Event. The Earth Day Event will take place at Wargo Nature Center on <br />Saturday, April 21st. The county-wide clean-up projects will take place <br />9:30am- 1l:30am. The projects will be helping to clean-up around the <br />county, plant native species, or simply beautify the Rice Creek Chain of <br />Lakes Regional Park. Lunch will be offered to volunteers from 1l:30am- <br />12:15pm. At 12:30 the actual Earth Day Event will start with free fun-filled <br />activities for the whole family. We plan on entertainment, a petting zoo; <br />climbing wall, canoeing and kayaking, light refreshments, and a craft <br />project. We will also be inviting local businesses to set up information <br />booths or activities for the public. <br /> <br />We are asking past participants and hopefully new faces to come together for our <br />planning committee. There is plenty of room for creativity and participation from <br />a wide variety of organizations. We would like to have our first meeting on <br />Wednesday, January 24 at 6 pm. Snacks will be provided. If you or your <br />organization would like to be involved, please come to our meeting or let us <br />know of your interest. We can be reached at 651-429-8007. Bring your ideas and <br />enthusiasm for Earth Day.
