Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Grant <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that Staff would be assembling the final grant application package the <br />following day for submission. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 7:40 p.m. <br />Council reconvened at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />7. Turcotte Purchase Agreement <br /> <br />Mr. Hoeft stated that the only modifications contained in the draft Purchase Agreement <br />was not limit the purchase agreement to a specific time frame as had been done <br />previously. The price remains at $139,000. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra questioned whether Mrs. Turcotte desired to live there until she <br />found another place to live. Mr. March stated Mrs. Turcotte had indicated she would be <br />accepted into the facility she desires to enter at any time. Mr. March stated that he had <br />mentioned to her, that at some point in time, the City would want a specific date when <br />she would be moving out and she seemed to understand. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg requested that Mr. March give some background on the Turcotte <br />property. Mr. March explained that the Turcotte property is located at 7073 Centerville <br />Road and is a duplex that has had numerous structural additions. Mr. March stated that <br />the property abuts the old Public Works site and acquiring same would be an asset for <br />downtown revitalization of the entire block. <br /> <br />Mr. Hoeft requested that Council direct Staff to enter into negotIatIOns with Mrs. <br />Turcotte. Mr. Hoeft stated that subsequent to an agreed upon sale price, Staff would <br />forward the agreement to Council for approval. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson requested that a typographical error in the purchase agreement <br />be corrected. Council Member Nelson questioned the use of the $139,000 purchase price <br />when the home and property were appraised at $138,000. Mr. March stated that Mrs. <br />Turcotte expressed desire to sell the property for $139,000. <br /> <br />Mr. DeVine questioned whether a public hearing was required to purchase the property. <br />Mr. Hoeft stated that Council would not; however the Economic Development Authority <br />(EDA) would need to. <br /> <br />Consensus was to direct Staff to enter into negotiations to purchase the Turcotte property. <br /> <br />8. Council Communication <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated that she discovered thb \ letter from Mr. March to Mr. <br />Buechler had indicated it was copied to Council but that she had not received it.
