<br />March 28, 2001 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Member Capra requested that Council receive copies when referenced accordingly in <br />Correspondence. Council Member Capra requested that this practice be ensured in the <br />future. Mr. March apologized for the oversight. <br /> <br />9. Committee Stipends <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated that she felt the stipend dollar amount for <br />commission/committee members needed to be increased to cover babysitter fees if <br />needed. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers questioned the amount of commission/committee <br />members serving. Council Member Nelson stated that curre~o/ the City is paying, / ....YI <br />$3,360 per year for Committee Member stipends. (,fJ1A,. :JJ1-V; Jt.tOlI"K- ok 1i~t~Lv" <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member <br />Nelson to increase Committee Member Stipends to $20 per month. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />1 O. Draft Goal Directives Proposal <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg stated that Council had been going through a process of setting goals <br />for a two-year period. Mayor Swedberg requested that Council adopt the Civic Index <br />from the National Civic League as a tool to guide civic infrastructure. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Swedberg. seconded by Council Member Nelson to adopt the <br />Civil Index from the National Civic League. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers questioned why Mayor Swedberg felt the City <br />needed to adopt the Civic Index formally. Mayor Swedberg stated he wanted to be <br />formal, as he feels the index contains ideas that are important for the City to follow. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson stated she would like to see a poster with the ten items listed. <br /> <br />All in favor: Ayes - 4 (Mayor Swedber~. Council Members Capra. Nelson and <br />Travis) Navs -1 (Broussard Vickers). Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg noted he had scheduled an open house at City Hall on April 7, 2001 at <br />7:00 p.m. and April 10, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the goals of the City. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra requested that Mr. March have the goals placed on the website. <br />Mr. March requested that the Mayor share his expectations of the open house with <br />Council. Mayor Swedberg stated he would be present and invited any other members of <br />Council to be present as well. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated it may be easier for residents to attend a Saturday morning <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />
