Council Member Travis also stated that he feels the members
of committees/commissions are providing a tremendous service to the City and should
not be requested to attend Council meetings. Mr.
Peterson stated that he would be available on an on-call basis when engineering issues
were being discussed, but did not feel the necessity ,pf regularly attending Planning and
Zoning Commission meetings. Mayor Swedberg stateJ'\hat Council would require more
detail from the Planning and Zoning Commission and there may be a need for a City
Engineer at those meetings.

Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that she did not feel engineering services were
typically needed at Commission meetings. The City has ordinances and the Commission
needs to consider compliance of same. The Commission relies on Staff for guidance.
Council Member Broussard Vickers also stated that she felt if there were particular issues
Mr. Peterson should be called upon, but it is not warranted or cost effective to have him
attend on a regular basis.

Mayor Swedberg stated that he desire to make sure that committee/commission members
receive professional input that they need to make responsible decisions.

Council Member Capra stated that she felt it was un-necessary to have a liaison appointed
to the Fete des Lacs Committee.
