<br />February 15,2001 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />Mr. Wilharber stated that he was aware of a meeting that had taken place with the <br />establishment's owner, Council Members Swedberg and Nelson present. Mr. Wilharber <br />questioned whether other members of Council had been informed of or invited to same. <br /> <br />Mr. Hoeft stated that he had been contacted and advised Mayor Swedberg that only two <br />(2) members be present to alleviate any open meeting law violations. <br /> <br />Both Council Members Travis and Broussard Vickers indicated they were informed of <br />the meeting but were not invited to participate. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilharber questioned whether Mr. Defoe was requested to demonstrate dancing <br />styles as alleged. Mr. Hoeft stated he did not believe any dancing styles were <br />demonstrated. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilharber questioned whether the City is on a business witch-hurtt to harass certain <br />businesses in town, as it appears this is the case, because some businesses are being <br />targeted for not removing snow and others are not. Mr. Wilharber stated it is fair to <br />notice all businesses not properly removing snow not just a select few. Mr. March <br />explained the notice to the business owner Mr. Wilharber is referring to, stemmed from a <br />citizen complaint concerning the removal. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilharber requested that Council Member Nelson issue a public apology to the Cable <br />Operator for the degrading comment she made at the last Council meeting. Mr. <br />Wilharber explained that Council Member Nelson had made the comment, "You can <br />wake up now Patricia." Mr. Wilharber stated he felt this was an insult to the Cable <br />Operator and uncalled for. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson apologized for the comment and stated she did not mean it to be <br />degrading or insulting, but was merely making light of the length of the meeting. <br /> <br />VII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Commercial/Retail Center - Lloyd Drilling <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling presented exterior drawings of the proposed building and stated that the <br />roofline has had caps added to. Mr. Drilling also presented a drawing representing the <br />rear of the building indicating siding and roof color. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra questioned whether a cement sidewalk would be installed near <br />the rear of the building. Mr. Drilling concurred. <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling presented a landscape plan and stated that the trees currently on the site will <br />be relocated to the rear of the property. Mr. Drilling also stated that the fencing will <br />match the neighbor's fence and that a chain link fence with a vision screen will enclose <br />the refuse container. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 18 <br />
