<br />. The Job Show <br />This is a program designed to promote employment opportunities available with local chamber <br />affiliated businesses'. The show will include a host intro, graphic pages created for each job <br />posting with a voice-over of the information, a video package highlighting the job of the month, <br />and a host closing. Both Chambers have been approached regarding this program, and both <br />have indicated high interest and promised promotional support. The program would be <br />produced at least once monthly. <br /> <br />. Municipal Issue Infomercials <br />At the joint Operations Committee/Cc ble Commission meeting an March 30, 2000, members <br />expressed a strong interest in the pro juction of municipal issue infomercials. Staff is eager to <br />work with city representatives to, fir! it, identify those topics, whether it be recycling, snow- <br />plowing, or fire-hydrant maintenance, and then produce a program informing viewers about that <br />topic. Our goal is to produce three to four of these infomercials per year. <br /> <br />· Civic Issue Forum (Live or tape-delayed) <br />Every City has issues that inspire debate. Often that debate includes misconceptions and <br />rumors mixed with fact. Staff would like to provide the opportunity for City Managers, Mayors, <br />planners and/or elected officials to form a panel to discuss these issues on television. The <br />forum could be cablecast live, or tape delayed. It could be done with an audience posing <br />questions, or In a closed studio. There are many options. This type of program could be <br />produced on a regular basis, cycling t etween cities, or it could simply be produced when a city <br />has an issue they would like to clarify )r explore. <br /> <br />· Bulletin Board Content Expallsion (Personal Announcements) <br />While contemplating additional services the Media Center could provide the general public, we <br />thought adding "personal announcements" to our current Community Bulletin Board would offer <br />viewers an additional outlet for celebrating an event. Guidelines would need to be created <br />regarding types of announcements accepted, length of display, lead time etc. Once guidelines <br />are established, we could begin displaying wedding, anniversary, birth, and Obituary information. <br /> <br />=1'J1IIn'Jlg <br /> <br />Plans exist to improve our current tr lining procedures and to add classes that focus on a <br />somewhat ignored segment of commu lity television, viewers. Below, please find improvements <br />scheduled for full implementation in 2C 01: <br /> <br />. Training Manuals <br />Staff is creating a training manual, uti! ling our digital camera and desktop publishing software, <br />that will serve as a handy and informat ve reference for people taking our classes. Students will <br />be given a binder at the introducto y class, containing guidelines, a general overview of <br />community television and information ;lbout the services we provide. As additional classes are <br />taken, students will be able to add the materials, from that class, to their binders. <br /> <br />4 <br />
