<br />- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Sheehy Land Donation <br />Ms. Lien explained that Mr. Cy Sheehy is willing to donate land located in the Industrial <br />Park area just behind Goetz Landscape and Northern Forest Products between 20lh and <br />21 st Avenues to the City. It is currently a 20-acre parcel in which Mr. Sheehy would like <br />to donate I5-acres of. As indicated in Mr. March's Week in Review, if the City obtained <br />this I5-acres, we would have the future trail linkage area secured to traverse, and would <br />be consistent with the long-term trail plan to connect to the City of Hugo. The property <br />has a high potential for recreational uses, and could also be a site for a future water tower. <br />In addition, a local business owner has expressed his interest in purchasing or renting a <br />portion of this property from the City, if we accept the proposed donation. This was <br />presented to the Parks and Recreation Committee for informational purposes only at this <br />time. <br /> <br />Capitol Improvement Projects <br />Discussed previously. <br /> <br />Ground Development Concept Plan <br />The committee discussed the proposed Ground Development Concept Plan for the <br />property located just south ofthe Center Oaks Development. Ground Development is <br />proposing 17,500 square foot minimum lots. The committee was not in favor ofthe <br />proposed Ground Development Concept Plan as presented. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation's Monthly Report to Patricia Scott (LeJoumal) <br />The committee directed Ms. DeVine to focus most ofthe monthly Parks and Recreation <br />update on the Skate Park / BMX Track Informational meeting to be held on Thursday, <br />October 26, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Porter, seconded by Mr. Peterson to adjourn the October 4, 2000 <br />Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting.
