One more radio operator is needed <br />during the 1500-2300 time period for a third law enforcement dispatch zone. No additional <br />equipment is needed to implement this recommendation. <br /> <br />The actual number of additional dispatch center operators needed is dependent on the current <br />shift staffing. It is probable that there will need to be recurring funding for three or four more <br />dispatch center operators to meet this need. Three additional dispatch center radio operators will <br />cost $105,750 per year based on 2001 personnel costs. <br /> <br />Test Equipment and Training: <br /> <br />It is suggested that an allowance of $1 00,000 be provided for any of the radio system alternatives <br />for test equipment and training. <br /> <br />3.4.2 Cost Estimate for an Enhanced VHF Radio System <br /> <br />The actual cost for enhancement of the existing VHF radio system is dependent on a detailed <br />system design and on the possibility for use of the Mn/DOT microwave system to connect <br /> <br />Ronald Vegemast Engineering.
