<br />MEMO <br /> <br />DATE March 22,2000 <br /> <br />TO Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> <br />FROM: Jim March <br /> <br />RE Mutual Aid Agreement <br /> <br />............................................................................ <br /> <br />Enclosed in your packet is a copy ofa mutual aid agreement that is being proposed by the <br />City of Hugo. This item was tabled at the last Council meeting. <br /> <br />I spoke to Lino Lakes City Administrator Linda Waite Smith in regards to this issue. <br />Enclosed in your packet is a letter that Lino Lakes sent to the City of Hugo in an attempt <br />to clarify some of the issues that they had with the agreement. At this point, I would <br />recommend that Centerville draft a letter to Hugo and Lino Lakes to clarify our position. <br />I personally would like to see this formal agreement remain between the City ofLino <br />Lakes and Hugo. We could state in our letter that we would be open to assisting other <br />communities in the event of a natural disaster, but I do not want to have our staff <br />coordinating who is responsible for having the on-call pager for the City of Hugo when <br />Hugo finds themselves short staffed. <br /> <br />We can discuss this issue in more detail at the meeting. Paul Palzer will be in attendance <br />at the meeting. <br />
