<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />february 14,2007 <br /> <br />neighbors and emotions were high. She said Mr. Hanzal and the engineer are attempting <br />to minimize the variance request. She reported it would be addressed at the next <br />Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard reported the Planning and Zoning Commission wanted to <br />know what City Council wants from it when decisions are made regarding due diligence <br />and how they make decisions. She stated this topic could be addressed at the joint <br />seSSIOn. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked Council Member Broussard to tell the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission that they are happy with what they are doing as this is a difficult decision <br />and process for everyone. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso reported she attended the Local Government Officials meeting <br />for Anoka County. She stated she heard an interesting topic on reintegrating military <br />personnel back into civilian life. She recommended a letter from the City Council be sent <br />to returning military members. She stated the City needs the help of the public to know <br />who these people are. Council Member Lakso reported that Minnesota is a model for <br />reintegrating the returning soldiers. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard stated she would like to include all personnel that served in <br />different capacities, not only those serving in Iraq. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee stated he fully supported this. He stressed that anything the City <br />could do as a community is a step in the right direction. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee reported he attended the Park and Recreation Commission meeting. <br />He encouraged everyone to attend skate night and the first 40 guests would get a pass for <br />the second skate night. He reminded everyone of the ice fishing event. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar updated the Council on the Super Rink. He reported that whether <br />Centerville should help pay for the rink was discussed. He thanked the high school <br />hockey players in community because it is great for the kids to have something to shoot <br />for. Council Member Paar recommended all residents attend the open skating. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated she and City Administrator Larson toured of the facility and was <br />impressed. <br /> <br />XI.
