Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes May 16, 2006 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday May 16,2006 - 6:30 p.m. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Parks and Recreation Committee of the City of CentervilIe held an extra scheduled meeting on May 16, 2006, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming circus and revisiting the previous recommendation regarding shredded tire mulch for the play structure fall zone at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Present: Chairperson Tedd Peterson Committee Member Linda Merkel Committee Member Kevin Amundsen Committee Member Suzanne Seeley Committee Member Kathy Peil Absent: Council: Jeff Paar QJJ[fi)@~~[J@w@@j Staff: Kim Stephan I. CALL TO ORDER 1. Roll Call Chairperson Peterson called the June 7, 2006 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. II. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Kellv Miller Circus The committee discussed what still needed to be done and delegated jobs. Signs saying 'Buy Your Kelly Miller Circus Tickets Here' will be delivered to outlets as well as the two 'Guess Jars', one to Corner Express and one to Centerville Pet Foods. Committee member Amundsen wrote a letter to Centerville Elementary requesting ideas how to give away the 40 children's tickets the committee has had donated from area businesses, to children who may not otherwise be able to attend. Chairperson Peterson will ensure utilities are marked at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park before the Big Top is set up as the tent stakes will be 4' deep. All monies from outlets will need to be collected Tuesday, May 30th. The committee will meet at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on May 30, 2006 to reconcile the tickets and money. Chairperson Peterson will open the door and lock the money and tickets up as Ms. Stephan is not available on that date. lof2
