<br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />Meeting Minutes May 4, 2005 <br /> <br />v. UPDATES <br /> <br />Earth Dav Participation - Saturday. April 23. 2005 <br /> <br />Chairperson Peterson thanked the volunteers who attended the park cleanup Saturday, April 23, <br />2005. Vice-Chairperson LeBlanc stated there were not many in attendance, but they were able <br />to clean the four (4) parks they had planned to clean in 1 ~ hours as the parks did not have as <br />much litter as they had expected. Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park was cleaned by the Centennial <br />Little League Association. <br /> <br />Adopt a Flowerbed <br /> <br />Committee Member Peil will take care of the flower bed at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park, <br />Committee Member Seeley was willing to adopt Tracie McBride Memorial Park, but a resident <br />volunteered after seeing the information on the city's web site. Chairperson Peterson has talked <br />to a resident near Acorn Creek who is willing to adopt the flower bed in that park. Both residents <br />were informed they could talk to Ms. Stephan for supplies or turn in receipt's not to exceed $50 <br />for each park, to City Hall when completed with the flowerbeds. Ms. Stephan will plant, fertilize <br />and mulch Eagle Park, and then a resident close to the park will maintain the bed. A resident <br />close to Royal Meadows Park adopted that flower bed last year and will continue with the project <br />this year. Ms. Stephan will supply Royal Meadows with supplies. Chairperson Peterson <br />requested putting a thank you to the residents on the web site. <br /> <br />St. Paul Water Utility Property on CentervilIe Lake <br /> <br />There is no current update on the purchase of this property. Vice-Chairperson stated he believed <br />the City has an extension until the end of 2005 to see if the City will be awarded the grant which <br />was submitted. <br /> <br />Wheels Skate Park Eauipment <br /> <br />Chairperson Peterson stated the representative from DuraFun had said the pieces ordered would <br />be in on May 2, 2005 and hoped to start the installation work next week. <br /> <br />Community Garden <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley is pursuing this project with City Council's approval. <br /> <br />Additional Li2hts at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park <br /> <br />Chairperson Peterson has not heard back from Rivard Electric regarding the additional lights at <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park for the pleasure ice rink, but will contact them in the upcoming <br />week. The committee would like the work done certainly by the time the ice rinks are in use <br />again. Committee Member Peil is planning to paint the outside trim on the warming house to <br />complete the work she started with the inside of the warming house. <br /> <br />40f5 <br />
