The Local Initiatives Grant Program inclu~es applications for the
Natural and Scenic Area, Regional Parks (outside the metro area) and the Outdoor
Recreation Grant Program. This review, which included a careful analysis of each
application was completed by staff of the Local Grants Unit.

About $2.4 million in federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LAWCON) dollars,
State Bonding dollars and State Environmental Trust Fund dollars were available for
grants this year. Competition for the limited grant dollars available was intense. Only
14 applications, out of 86 applications submitted were recommended for funding.
Unfortunately, your application did not rank highly enough to be recommended for
funding this year.

If you would like information regarding your application and/or suggestions on how
your proposed.project might be revis.ed to make it more competitive, please call
your grants manager, Audrey Mularie, at 651/296-4705.

Thank you for your interest in the Outdoor Recreation Grant Program.

Sincerely,

~ve -;?~ ~

Wayne M.
