"

MIM'

TO: Parks & Recreation Committee Members

FROM: Kim Stephan

SUBJECT: FYI

DATE: July 21, 2005

The following excerpt is from the May 11,2005 City Council Meeting Minutes concerning the Church
of St. Genevieve Site Plan Review - Trail Easements.

VII. NEW BUSINESS

Church of St. Genevieve Site Plan Review - P & Z Recommendation for Approval

Tom Wilharber of6849 CentervilIe Road appeared before Council as one of the two trustees
for the Church ofSt. Genevieve and gave a history of the Church.

Mayor Capra provided an overview of the comments at the Planning and Zoning meeting
and noted that the landscape plan was accepted showing less than normal requirements but
the normal requirement would have been 220 trees and the Commission did not feel that was
necessary since the Church intends to continue to expand.

Mr. Wilharber indicated the first building is a community center or gathering space and
there will be a kitchen and bathrooms and mechanicals and at a future date there would be
an administration building and educational building and then a larger church and possibly a
gym and that is why they did not want to plant trees to be removed later.

Mayor Capra indicated that Park and Recreation would like a trail easement across from
Meadow Lane up to the City park and on the west side to connect.

Mr. Wilharber indicated that he discussed the easements with Father Fitzgerald and he did
not have an issue with it but the Administrative Council meets at the end of the month and
will discuss it. He then said that he does not feel the easements would be an issue.

Council Member Lee asked if Park and Recreation has seen the plans.

Ms. Stephan indicated that Park and Recreation discussed it at the last meeting.

Mr. LeBlanc indicated it was discussed and they would like to see trails along LaMotte
Drive and some way to get from Meadow Lane to LaMotte Park.
