Pa:{ (651) 429-8629 Centennial Lakes Little League Mr. Patrick Mahr 4175 Lovel Road, Suite 114 Lexington, MN 55014 Dear Mr. Mahr, We received your letter dated March 15, 2005 requesting the use of the ball fields at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park and the fields behind Centerville Elementary for Centennial Lakes Little League from April 1 through August 15,2005, Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. until dark. The City of Centerville cannot give you permission to use the fields behind Centerville Elementary School as that is not city park property. This request will have to go through the school. As for Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park, this. request needs to go through the Parks & Recreation Committee and be approved by City Council. The next scheduled Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting is April 6, and the City Council Meeting that follows will be April 13, 2005 so your request for the use of the ball fields cannot be approved before that time. I checked last years scheduling of this and the request was before Parks & Recreation at the March 3,2004 regularly scheduled meeting. The following excerpt is from the Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes of March 3, 2004 for your review. I will submit the same request if it meets with your approval, and add this information the April 6, 2005 Parks & Recreation Committee Agenda. Centennial Little Lea/me Use of Ball fields The Parks & Recreation Committee received a letter from the Centennial Lakes Little League requesting the use of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park ball fields and the same service provided by Public Works Staff in regards to grooming the fields prior to games. This would be the same schedule as was approved in 2003. At this time, no other requests have been received The Centennial Lakes Little League has worked with the city in the past donating all the backstops and purchased an attachment for the tractor, which is used in grooming the fields. Motion was made by Chairperson Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Zeigler, to recommend City Council accept the request from Centennial Little League to use the three baseball and softball fields and facilities located in Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park for the summer months of 2004 beginning April 1 through August 15,2004, Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m until dark.
