t

Parks & Recreation Committee
Meeting Minutes March 2, 2005

In the fall of 2004 the Parks & Recreation Committee applied for and received $3,000 in
Charitable Gambling Funds from the Dead Broke Saddle Club and the Spring Lake Park Lions.
Funds were also allocated in the committee's budget for 2005. Once this equipment is installed it
will be permanent.

Motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Leblanc, seconded by Chairperson Peterson to
recommend to City Council to accept and implement the proposal made by DuraFun dated
February 21, 2005 to purchase and install skate park equipment on the permanent skate
park pad at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. The proposed amount is $5,938.43 with
$3,000 to be paid from Charitable Gambling Funds the committee has received from Dead
Broke Saddle Club and the Spring Lake Park Lions, with the balance to come from Parks
& Recreation Funds. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.

Additional Liehts at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park

Chairperson Peterson reported Rivard Electric has inspected the current lighting system. At this
time an estimate cannot be given as it will depend on what is found with the wiring once the
snow melts and the electrician can take a closer look. This item will be kept on agenda as update.

Invitine Mr. Jeff Smyser to Attend a Parks & Recreation Committee Meetine Reeardine
the City of Lino Lakes Trail Plan

A copy of the Lino Trail Plan was supplied to the committee by Vice-Chairperson LeBlanc. The
committee discussed having a meeting with representatives from Hugo & Lino Lakes Parks, as
well as Anoka Parks & Anoka County Highway Department, to coordinate trail efforts. The
trails on the Lino Lakes maps look scattered. Chairperson Peterson would like to try and set up a
meeting with all the above.

vm. FINANCIALS

All Committee Meetine - Budeet Information

Mr. John Meyer supplied financial information for each of the committees at the all committee
meeting in February. In reviewing this information the Parks & Recreation Committee felt it was
incorrect and did not reflect the committee's current budget & goals. Chairperson Peterson will
discuss this with Mr. Meyer and Vice-Chairperson LeBlanc will ensure Mr. Meyer has the latest
Parks & Recreation Committee budget information. A running balance would be desired on
future financials.

IX. ADJOURNMENT

Motion was made by Vice-Chairperson LeBlanc, seconded by Committee Member Peil to
adjourn the March 2, 2005 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting at 7:53 p.m. All in
favor.
