Centerville is proposing to designate Clearwater Creek as a linear park/trail
corridor to serve only the residents of Centerville, as it would both begin and end in
the City limits. There is a possibility of a link with Lino Lakes (to the east) but due
to the marginal land involved and the geography of Clearwater Creek at that point,
develol?ment seems questionable.

Guideline 4

"Indicate if any regional parks will be used as part of the local park system ~d the
function .the regionall?ark will need to serve in the local system".

The Chain of Lakes Regional Park has not been specifically designated to fulfill any
local. park - (N eighborhood park, Com munity playfleld) needs for the City . of
Centerville. However, -the City has recognized that the close proximity of some
open space facilities such as lake access, picnic areas and natural outdoor areas
will reduce the need for the City to provide them.

Guideline 5

"Policies and interim management tools to be incorporated in the implementation
program to reserve proposed regional parks and trails designated in the system
statement which have not yet been acquired."

Presently, there are po designated, unacquired proposed regional parks or trails in
Centerville~ All lands previously designated have been acquired. If, in the future,
. additional land is designated for Regional Park, the City of Centerville will be
available to negotiate with other agencies, as in the l?ast.

"

26
