EARTH DAY - Anoka County Department of Parks & Recreation <br />will be celebrating Earth Day, Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Wargo <br />Nature Center from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Help clean up, plant and <br />beautify parks throughout Anoka County. Please call to register <br />for a specific project for your family or group at 651-429-8007. <br />Lunch will be provided for workers at 11:30 to 12:15. <br /> <br />. TAX VOLUNTEERS will be at City Hall on Friday, May 6, 2005 <br />from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to help seniors and people with disabilities <br />complete their Minnesota Property Tax/Rent Credit Forms. EDC ANNUAL BUSINESS APPRECIATION "OLD FASHION <br />BBQ" is scheduled for May 10, 2005 commencing at 5:30 p.m. at <br />City Hall in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />. NORTH METRO CHANNEL 15 HOLDS OPEN HOUSE ON MAY <br />17, 2005. North Metro Channel 15 will hold an open house for <br />their new community television facility on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 <br />from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. (12520 Polk St. NE, Blaine). Tours of the <br />new building will feature editing suites and production studios <br />available for use by the public. Information about North Metro <br />Channel 15's services will be available and staff will be on hand to <br />explain how to get started making community television programs. <br />A drawing will be held for free memberships and North Metro <br />Channel 15 apparel. If you anticipate that you will have over- <br />night guest(s) or your own vehicles will be parked on the street, please <br />contact City Hall and we will be happy to provide you with a free park- <br />ing permit. <br /> <br />COMMITTEES AND COMMISSION VACANCIES <br /> <br />The Economic Development Committee (EDC), the Parks and Recrea- <br />tion Committee (P & R) and the Planning and Zoning Commission (P & Z) <br />have vacated positions. EDC has two vacancies. They meet on the 2nd <br />Tuesday of every month. P & R has three vacancies. They meet on the <br />1st Wednesday of every month. P & Z has one vacancy and they meet <br />on the 1st Tuesday of every month. All committees and commission <br />meetings start at 6:30 p.m. or shortly thereafter. If you are inter- <br />ested in becoming a member or have questions regarding the commit- <br />tees/commission, please contact City Hall at 651-429-3232. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL VACANCY <br /> <br />There is a City Council seat available. If anyone is interested in be- <br />coming a City Council Member, please submit a letter of interest to <br />City Hall. City Council will be accepting letters of interest until May 6, <br />2005. Council meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month and <br />has occasional work sessions. <br /> <br />We would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to Linda <br />Broussard-Vickers for her many years of service.
