Any deviation from the plan location which will affect the installation of the <br />sewer connection, should be brought to the attention of the City immediately. Contractor shall <br />install the house sewer by exposing the wye at the sewer main or the service stub at the property <br />line, connecting to that wye or service stub and shall lay the house sewer pipe from the wye or <br />service stub to the building. <br /> <br />The City will assume no responsibility for extra charges as a result of such misplaced <br />connections unless it is notified before any work is done and has had an inspection made by its <br />representative to confirm the condition and to authorize extra work. <br /> <br />Existing building service lines or systems may require replacement. Such lines claimed to be in <br />good condition and approved material shall be subject to an air test or other suitable tests <br />approved by the City Engineer and or Plumbing Inspector. Any system will be subject to <br />retesting. Cost of testing shall be paid by the owner. Any system failing to meet a satisfactory <br />test shall be replaced or repaired to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and or Plumbing <br />Inspector. <br /> <br />No connection of any building sewer service line shall be made by any person other than an <br />employee of the City of Centerville, a licensed sewer installer or a plumber licensed by the State <br />of Minnesota and all such connections shall be made under dry conditions, either naturally <br />occurring or by dewatering and under supervision of the Plumbing Inspector. <br /> <br />SECTION 13. ABNORMAL AND PROHIBITED DISCHARGES. <br /> <br />Abnormal strength and volumes shall be classified as a special discharge in comparison to <br />domestic wastes and shall be treated on a special basis as to rates and are subject to review by the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any owner, occupant or user of any premises to direct or discharge <br />prohibited elements or materials into the sanitary sewer system of the City of Centerville, said <br />prohibited elements or materials being defmed herein. <br /> <br />1. Storm Water. No storm water, surface water, ground water, or run-off, <br />subsurface drainage, cooling water or unpolluted industrial process waters <br />shall be discharged or caused to be discharged into said sanitary sewer <br />system. <br />2. Roof and Surface Water. No roof or surface water drains shall be <br />connected or directed to drain into the sanitary sewer system. <br />3. Any gasoline, benzene, naptha, fuel oil, or other flammable or explosive <br />liquid, solid or gas. <br />. 4. Any garbage that has not been properly shredded. <br />5. Any ashes, cinders, sand, mud, straw, shavings, metal, glass, rags, <br />feathers, tar, plastics, wood, paunch manure, or any other solid or viscous <br />substance capable of causing obstruction to the flow in sewers or other <br />interference with the proper operation of the sewage works. <br /> <br />Page 7 of9 <br />
