<br />Subd. 69. Floor Area. The sum of the gross horizontal areas of the several <br />floors of a building or dwelling unit, measured from the exterior <br />walls or from the centerline of party walls separating buildings, <br />excluding basements. <br /> <br />Subd. 70. Floor Area Ratio. The total floor area on a zoning lot divided by <br />the total site area of the lot or parcel being developed. <br /> <br />Subd.71. Freestanding Sign. Any sign supported by structures or supports <br />that are permanently anchored in the ground and that are <br />independent from any building or structure. See Ordinance #39, <br />SIGNS. <br /> <br />Subd. 72. Frontage. The front or frontage is that side of a lot abutting on a <br />street or roadway and ordinarily regarded as the front of the lot, but <br />it shall not be considered as the ordinary sideline of a comer lot. <br /> <br />Subd.73. Garage. Private. Any accessory building or an accessory portion <br />of a principal building designed or used solely for the storage of <br />motor vehicles, boats, and other personal belongings which are <br />owned or used by the occupants of the building to which it is <br />accessory . <br /> <br />Subd.74. Garage Sale. Any display of items for sale in a dwelling, garage or <br />yard on property used primarily as a residence. <br /> <br />Subd.75. Glare. A sensation of brightness within the visual field that causes <br />annoyance, discomfort, or loss in visual performance and visibility. <br /> <br />Subd.76. Grade. The lowest point of elevation of the finished surface of the <br />ground, paving or sidewalk within the area between the buildillg <br />and the property line, or when the property line is more than five <br />(5) feet from the building, between the building and a line five (5) <br />feet from the building. <br /> <br />Subd. 77. Home Occupation. An occupation or professional activity or use <br />that is clearly a customary, incidental, and secondary use of a <br />residential dwelling unit and which does not alter the exterior of <br />the property or affect the residential character of the neighborhood. <br />Home occupations in the City must meet the following criteria: <br />a.) Home occupationS shallbe conducted solely by <br />person residing <br />in the residence with the exception of no more than <br />one additional non-related employee; and <br /> <br />7 <br />
