<br />o' <br /> <br /> <br />Week in Review <br />July 23, 2002 <br /> <br />Fete des Lacs. The 12th annual Fete des Lacs celebration in the City of Centerville is just around the comer. The <br />events begin on Friday August 2nd with Bingo and fireworks an at Laurie LaMotte Park. Satwday"s events are <br />kicked off by the parade that begins at 10:00 a.m. at 73rd and Brian Drive; the Main Stage events foBowing the <br />parade; the car.show scheduled from noon until 5:00 p.m.; and the ever popular bike ra1fIe is at 7:45 at Centerville <br />Elementary School. just before the street Dance. The street Dance will be held from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 am. at <br />Laurie LaMotte Par1t. Other events Include a Voneyball Tournament, SoftbaD Tournament. Water Ski Show. and <br />Jet Ski Races. <br /> <br />Worksession on Mondav. July 22. 2002. The City Council met with owners of the liquor establishments to <br />discuss the proposed revised liquor ordinance. Last winter. the Council had also met with owners as well as <br />representatives with the Centennial Lakes Police Department and the state Liquor and Gambling agency to discuss <br />enforcement issues and regulations regarding violations and licensing. <br /> <br />The Council is looking to hold a public hearing on the proposed liquor ordinance once input from any and all of the <br />stakeholders has been received. The public is invited to any of these meetings and to receive more information <br />regarding this issue. please call City HaD at 651-429-3232. <br /> <br />StoD Sians at Main Street and I35E. The County is in the process of securing ~y stop signs and InstalDng <br />them at the two intersections with the I35E ramps and Main street. According to the County engineer. these 4-way <br />stop signs should be installed by the end of August. <br /> <br />Fence Ordinance Q & A. Lately. City HaD has been receiving several caDs regarding fences in Centerville. <br />Basically. fences are required to be installed 2 feet from the properly One. In order to InstaB a fence on the property <br />line. the owner of the fence needs to obtain the adjacent neighbor's written permission to do so and It must be on <br />file with the City. <br /> <br />Fences are also required around swimming pools if your pool contains 2 feet or more water and fence has to be 6 <br />feet taD. The City has issued 3 building permits for <br />Pheasant Marsh. Phase I and 3 buDding pennits for Eagle Pass, Phase II. <br /> <br />Please Be ConsIderate of Your Neighbors. City Staff have been receiving several complaints from residents <br />throughout the community about unmowed lawns. weeds and dog droppings. Lawns are not to be longer than 8 <br />inches and weeds are to be removed or trimmed. Dogs are to licensed and leashed. If you are walking your dogs, <br />please clean up after them.
