<br /> <br />Week in Review <br />July 16, 2002 <br /> <br />City to Update Liquor Ordinance. <br />The City Council has worked with Staff and liquor establishment owners in updating the City's liquor <br />ordinance. Woit began in'late winter and is culminating this month with the review of the proposed <br />updated liquor ordinance. Discussion of the proposed liquor ordinance at the July 10th Council meeting <br />was tabled until July 24th,s Council mee$g. The Council did schedule a worksession for :further <br />discussion with the licensees on July 22M at 6:30 p.m <br /> <br />Construction Update. ~Construction will be starting soon on the Pheasant Marsh. Phase n project, <br />weather permitting. <br />Progress continues on Uptown Center with the construction of a fence and the pl~ting of trees. The <br />repair of the trail at Acorn Creek Park is scheduled to begin as soon as the weather iuiproves and the <br />project area dries out. <br /> <br />COUllD.cil MeetinE Su.mmary for 7/10/02. <br />1II The Council held a public hearing for the proposed Ordinance 4; no one attended to speak to the <br />Ordinance. Another public hearing is schedul~ for July 24th Council meeting. <br />The Council considered two requests for TemporarylEvent 3.2 Liquor licenses. The Council <br />granted approval for the Lion's request for both the Fete des Lacs celebration and the State <br />Softball Tournament scheduled for August 23, 24, and 25, 2002. Several conditions were <br />stipulated as part of the approvals, including that the sales of3.2 beer will stop at 11:30. <br />Both proposed ordinances for ma~sage parlors and tattooing, body piercing, and body branding <br />were tabled until the July 24th Council meeting. <br />The Council considered a letter from the St. Paul Water Utilities advising the City that the Utility <br />is plannmg to sell the Watchman's residential property.
