<br />Padts & R.ecmation <br />MUmtes 09-04-02 <br /> <br />Park & Trail Plan <br />This item was tabled as Chairperson De Vine had not discussed the Park & Trail Pbin <br />with Paul Palzer. This item will be put on the next committee'meeting agenda. <br /> <br />Pheasant MarshIHunters Crossin2 Trail <br />City Administrator Moore-Sykes had requested the Parks & Recreation Committee <br />review the need for a crossing/warning sign where the trail from Hunters Crossing runs <br />across Centerville Road to the Pheasant Marsh Itrail. Tom Wilharber came before <br />council to request something be done as it is a dangerous situation for bikers who are <br />not aware that they are coming onto a busy county road. Ms. Moore Sykes would like a <br />letter drafted by Parks & Recreation to Mioka County. Chairperson De Vine asked <br />Committee Member LeBlanc ifhe would contact the county and see what needs to' be <br />done and report at the next committee meeting. Committee Member Peterson suggested <br />contacting Forest Lake to determine how they were able to put a crosswalk in on <br />Highway 61, north of Broadway. <br /> <br />Lion's Branch Club ReDort on Concession Sales ~' <br />Committee Member Pell submitted a report for the Centerville Lions Branch Club 2002 <br />Concession Sales at Laurie LaMotte Park. The report shows total revenues at $499.00, <br />expenses $340.14 and profits of $185.40 with 20% to Park and Recreation at $37.08. <br />The Branch Club sold concessions for eight (8) nights during the Little League season. <br />Sales were zero at the current warming house location-for the first few nights. Once the <br />Branch Club moved to a table near the ball fields, sales improved. <br /> <br />Submittin!! Requests for Charitable Gamblin!! Funds <br />The committee discussed the idea of requesting charitable gambling funds from Dead <br />Broke Saddle Club and the Spring Lake Park Lions <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee <br />Member Lee to recommend to council to approve City Admini!iltrator Moore-Sykes <br />working with Committee Member Peterson as a representative of the Parks and <br />Recreation Committee, to submit an application to Dead Broke Saddle Club <br />requesting approximately $1,000 to purchase a set of bleachers for the Laurie <br />LaMotte Park ball fields. An application would also be submitted to the Spring <br />Lake Park Lions requesting approximately $2,000 for bike racks for each of the S <br />parks in CenterviIIe. <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley will get prices for bleachers and bike racks. <br /> <br />3 of 5 <br />
