COMMI'ITEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Eatde Seout Project at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park- FwMJint( <br /> <br />This item was discussed under appearances. <br /> <br />Traeie McBride Memorial Park ReDovations <br /> <br />Committee Member Selander and Committee Member Mosher met at Tracie McBride Memorial <br />Park to discuss some of Committee Member Harris's ideas presented at the previous committee <br />meeting. They felt the future proposed tennis court would be in a good location, as well as the <br />suggested location of the swing sets. Fill needs to be added where the water tower was. removed <br />and the area leveled out There is very little shade at this park and picnic tables would be in the <br />direct sunlight, this will need to be addressed. Council Member Lee suggested leaving the fields <br />as open as possible, as they are frequently used for games. . <br /> <br />Chairperson Seeley suggested baving two entrances onto the street is not a good idea as she felt it <br />would be a safety issue. A handicapped access from the parking area is needed. Committee <br />Member Selander will put together a list of things the committee feels need to be or can be <br />addressed by Public Works at this time and email it to the City Administrator. Items include: <br />painting the building to match the park sign colors, shingles need to be replaced on the roof on <br />the north side; the wood fence can be disassembled and reconstructed to enclose only the pipes <br />on the north side of the building (the feDced area should be much smAller). The fence should be <br />painted the same color as the building to make a much cleaner look and the basketball court area <br />needs to be resurfaced. <br /> <br />Wdden Surin. Park Imurovements <br /> <br />The committee discussed picnic tables. The original motion was to include the picnic tables in <br />the bid, but due to an oversight, the tables were omitted. This was discovered at the City Council <br />Meeting where the bid was awarded. Mayor Capra requested Vice-Cbairperson Amundsen <br />reco"lmtmd tables to be purc"aaewt to Staft7Council for approval. <br /> <br />From the June 6, 2007 Parks & RecreIItlon CommltJee Meeting Minutes: <br /> <br />The committee would like to leave Alternative #2, Picnic Tables in the bid.
