City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 27, 2007 <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that she would like to consider a budget work session in July. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Consensus reached to hold a budget work session on July 25, 2007. <br /> <br /> <br />4.I-35 Update <br /> <br />Mayor Capra reported that she and Administrator Larson attended the I-35 meeting. She <br />commented that the bridge is scheduled to be completed in 2009. She described the <br />changes that would be made. She stated that there are plans for a park and ride in the <br />plans. She commented that the environmental impact study took only three months to <br />complete compared to the four years for the CSAH 14 project. <br /> <br />Administrator Larson stated that was so it could be integrated into the CSAH 14 plans. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that the next meeting would be held in October, 2007. <br /> <br /> <br />5.Business Appreciation <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar thanked St. Genevieve’s Church for hosting the dinner. He <br />commented that he was disappointed that more businesses did not attend. <br />Councilmember Paar suggested holding this event at a different time of the year as <br />Tuesdays in the summer are not a good option. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra commented that Senator Vanderveer attended this year. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra thanked City staff for facilitating the logistics for the event. <br /> <br /> <br />6.Other <br /> <br />Councilmember Lakso suggested holding a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new backage <br />road. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar recommended combining it with the Hidden Spring Park <br />dedication. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra tasked Administrator Larson with finding out the completion date of the <br />new road. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee reported two vacancies on the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar reported that Kenny Kost won the fight against St. Paul’s Matt “The <br />Predator” Vanda at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium on June 15, 2007. <br /> <br />Page 10 of 11 <br />
