City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 27, 2007 <br />complete the 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update and authorizing an application for <br />Grant Funds. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />7.Approval of Budget – 2008 – North Metro Telecommunications (NMTC) <br /> <br />Councilmember Lakso reported that the Commission voted to approve the North Metro <br />Telecom budget. She explained how the two budgets were combined into one budget. <br />She reported that the largest increase was in personnel coverage, increasing it to 4.79% <br />higher for 2008; however, the capital costs are 2.9% lower than last year. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />the 2008 North Metro Telecom budget. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />8.Resolution #07-025 – Authorizing Submission of Request for State Bonding <br />Funds for the Reconstruction of a Portion of Anoka County State Aid Highway 14 <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that he hopes the City would receive funds for the local <br />share of the CSAH 14 project and that he would like to pursue the possibility. He <br />commented that the Governor has historically line item vetoed the items that do not have <br />a regional significance. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard, seconded by Council Member Paar, to <br />approve Resolution #07-025, a resolution authorizing submission of request for <br />State Bonding Funds for the reconstruction of a portion of Anoka County State Aid <br />Highway 14. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1.City Administrator Larson <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported on the ultimate fighting events occurring in <br />neighboring communities. He commented that some communities have adopted <br />ordinances to prevent such activities. He stated that he would prepare a draft ordinance <br />for Council’s consideration and approval. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Council asked Administrator Larson and City Attorney Glaser to draft an ordinance to <br />prevent ultimate fighting activities in the City of Centerville. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Commemorative Items for Sesquicentennial (Update) <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the order for the pins was finalized.
