<br />D - Full removal and replacement of the existing bituminous section. Curb and gutter will be left in place <br />except for spot repairs. The new section will consist of draintile, the existing gravel base and new <br />bituminous. Storm sewer improvements will also be constructed where applicable. <br /> <br />E. EDGE MILL AND OVERLAY: <br /> <br />Finally, some streets in the northeast are in a position to be rehabilitated by a minimally invasive <br />improvement known as an edge mill and overlay. This work will significantly extend the life of the street <br />with minimal cost. The edges along the front of each curb line are milled (ground) off to a depth of about 1 <br />V2 inches, leaving some of the bituminous section in tact. This is done only on the edges, with the middle <br />of the street remaining untouched. Then a bituminous overlay is paved over the entire roadway, adding to <br />the strength of the existing street. <br /> <br />Category E improvements are as described below: <br /> <br />E - Mill the edge of the bituminous along each cub line for a width of 6 feet. Curb and gutter will be left in <br />place except for spot repairs. The new section will consist of the existing gravel and bituminous and a lift <br />new bituminous.
