City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 8, 2007 <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />the July 25, 2007 City Council Meeting Minutes as presentedAll in favor. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> <br />1.City of Centerville July 26, 2007 through August 8, 2007 Claims. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Broussard, to <br />approve the Consent Agenda items as amended. All in favor. Motions carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Centennial Fire District Claims through August 1, 2007. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />the Consent Agenda items as amended. All in favor. Motions carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Resolution #07-031 – Electing to Participate in the Anoka County Housing & <br />Redevelopment Authority Economic Development Activities. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson explained that this resolution authorizes Centerville to <br />participate in the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority’s economic <br />development activities as presented by Ms. Karen Skepper, Anoka County Economic <br />Development Authority during the July 25, 2007 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra questioned whether the City had a tax levy option with its EDA. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson replied that the City did have that option. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra commented that if the City could participate in the HRA and not commit to <br />the EDA, she would prefer not taxing citizens with a County EDA. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to table <br />Resolution #07-031 – Electing to Participate in the Anoka County Housing & <br />Redevelopment Authority Economic Development Activities until September 12, <br />2007.
