City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 22, 2007 <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that staff would review the maps for accuracy. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard, seconded by Council Member Lee, to <br />approve a Public Hearing for November 14, 2007 and to direct staff to notify the <br />appropriate agencies. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Proposal for Sod Replacement at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park <br /> <br />Commissioner Broussard requested that proof of insurance be a requirement to be met at <br />the time of application. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser recommended that this requirement be establish by ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve the <br />Proposed Sod Replacementat Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park and to require proof <br /> <br />of insurance. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />5.Resolution #07-031 – Domestic Violence Awareness Month <br /> <br />Annually, the Alexandra House requests support for the acknowledging that October is <br />Domestic Violence Awareness Month. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to approve <br />Resolution #07-031, Domestic Violence Awareness Month. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />6.Tax Increment Financing Plan Proposal for Kendall Howard Project <br /> <br />Mr. Randy Harried, 1571 Stony Brook Drive, Lino Lakes, reported that Kendall Howard is <br />seeking a site for a new building and Centerville is an attractive community. He explained <br />that Kendall Howard is a national and international manufacturer of rack and shelving <br />systems for the military as well as civilian use. He stated that they currently operate in a <br />20,000 square foot building in St. Paul and are experiencing shortage of space. Mr. <br />Harried commented that Centerville has a site available where he would build a 50,000 <br />square foot building with additional expansion capabilities. He explained that they are <br />looking for TIF funding from the City. <br /> <br />Mr. John Meyer, Finance Director, explained the choices available to the City for TIF. He <br />displayed a site map to point out the location of the subject building and property. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson explained that Council must decided whether to support the <br />business owner with TIF funds for this project. <br /> <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />
