City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 28, 2007 <br />Mayor Capra commented the group was appreciative that the City is interested in this. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lakso indicated that there were more than 20 individuals attending this <br />first meeting. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson presented advertising options such as the back page of the <br />Citizen at a cost of approximately $1,700. He mentioned an insert with a map of the <br />businesses on one side and County road construction information on the other. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve the <br />use of the EDA Budget and Authorize an EDA Expenditure of Funds for Business <br />promotion to the extent of the remaining EDC budget balance (estimated at $4,000). <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Consensus reached to authorize City Administrator Larson and Councilmember Lakso to <br />develop the advertising. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1.City Administrator Larson <br /> <br />No Report <br /> <br />Mayor Capra commented that she asked City Administrator Larson to look at the 8mm <br />films of the tearing down of the Centerville elementary school. She questioned Council <br />as to whether it is willing to expend about $80 per roll to convert these to CD. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that he would check to see if funds are available from <br />the Historical Society. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Downtown Redevelopment <br /> <br />No Report <br /> <br /> <br />3.The Beard Group <br /> <br />Mayor Capra emphasized that she would like a meeting held before the end of the year to <br />come to some agreement. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser was directed to set a meeting up with the Beard Group. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Other <br /> <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />
