City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 14, 2007 <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br />the Consent Agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Street Reconstruction Project Comments <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard informed Council of expressed concerns by residents over the <br />Street Reconstruction Project. She asked if the City could consider alternatives to <br />bonding to finance the street project. She commented she is tired of people saying they <br />do not want anything done. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee commented that he thought about how this could be made more <br />palatable and realized there is no solution. He stated it is the responsibility of the City <br />Council to ensure the infrastructure is maintained. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that she would like a Public Input Meeting held after the first of the <br />year. She requested this be discussed at the December, 2007 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra requested that the media publish and instruct residents to direct their <br />comments and questions to the City Administrator, who would then inform the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar commented that if the City paid 100 percent, those residents who <br />said their road was in good condition would be first in line to state their roads were in <br />need of repair. He commented that money is put aside for street maintenance. He <br />explained taxes were not raised because of road maintenance. He encouraged residents to <br />look at where their taxes went up. He stated that he wants Centerville to be a nice City <br />and a great place to open businesses. He stressed that he is in favor of cost savings <br />opportunities; however, because Centerville is a small city, limitations exist. <br /> <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Resolution #07-042 – Delinquent Sewer/Water/Garbage Services <br />Certification/Assessments for 2008 <br /> <br />City Administrator reported that this is an annual list of unpaid Sewer/Water/ Garbage <br />service assessments. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard, seconded by Council Member Lee, to <br />approve Resolution #07-042, a Resolution Approving Delinquent Sewer/ Water/ <br />Page 4 of 8 <br />
