City of Centerville <br />April 13, 2005 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />Mayor Capra indicated that she would like the City to consider using Resolutions for <br />actions rather than only motions as a way of making it easier to look things up. Council <br />agreed that some things would be easier to track with the use of Resolutions and asked <br />Staff to prepare a recommendation. <br />2. <br />Resolution #05-015 <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, secondedby Council Member Paar, to approve <br />Resolution #05-015 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />3.Resolution #05-016 Charitable Gambling License Renewal <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />Resolution #05-016 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />4.Flier to Chauncey Barett – Committee/Commission Vacancy <br />Mayor Capra indicated that she would like to direct Staff to send a flier to Chauncey <br />Barett as they do not receive utility billing or the newsletter. <br /> Council agreed. <br /> 5. Lifetime Achievement Award <br />Mayor Capra suggested coordinating the Citizen of the Year with the Fete des Lacs <br />celebration and she will work on the process. <br />6.American Lung Association Letter & Resolution <br />Mayor Capra indicated she had received this letter from the American Lung Association <br />and asked Council to consider it. <br />Council Member Lee indicated that he does not think that government should be involved <br />in banning something that is a legal activity. <br />Council discussed the matter and agreed to leave it up to Anoka County. <br />7.Ordinance #13 Liquor <br />Council discussed looking at the fines to ensure they are high enough as well as <br />reviewing the required insurance amounts. <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that there maybe legislation requiring certain fine amounts <br />and suggested Council table the Ordinance changes until that is known. <br />Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br />
