City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 27, 2005 <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that he and Mr. Meyer are working on the <br />streetscape portion of the project. <br />Mr. Peterson indicated that they met to review the bridge designs and have narrowed it <br />down to Options 2, 4, and 9. <br />Council Member Paar indicated that he would like an answer as to whether there will be <br />st <br />stoplights at 21 or not so the City knows where it stands on that portion. <br />Discussions to continue at the work session. <br />2.Vacant Council Seat – Letters of Interest <br />Mayor Capra thanked residents for the interest in the position. She then asked Council to <br />provide their top two choices for consideration. <br />Council Member Paar indicated that he does not feel he is qualified to choose someone <br />for a position that should be elected by the people. He also commented that he wished <br />more people had been interested at election time rather than now when it is an <br />appointment. He then said that his top two choices based on experience and what they <br />have done for the City are Richard Terway and Wayne LeBlanc. <br />Council Member Lee agreed that this was a difficult decision but his top two candidates <br />are Wayne LeBlanc and Richard Terway with his top being Richard Terway. <br />Mayor Capra indicated she called all of the candidates and discussed the position with <br />them and her top two candidates are Wayne LeBlanc and Richard Terway with Richard <br />Terway her top candidate. He was a candidate for the City Administrator position and is <br />a resident of the City with excellent municipal experience. <br />Council Member Lakso indicated that Mr. Terway went out of his way to contact her and <br />inform her of his interest in the position and that shows interest and initiative and he is <br />her top candidate. <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Lee to approve <br />the appointment of Richard Terway to the vacant City Council position. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Capra asked Staff to send letters to the other candidates thanking them for their <br />interest and asking them if they are interested in serving on any of the other City <br />Committees or Commissions. <br />Council asked that Mr. Terway be invited to the Business Appreciation Dinner and the <br />upcoming work session. <br />Page 5 of 7 <br /> <br />
