City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 8, 2005 <br />Mayor Capra requested the following change: On Page 7 of 8 insert “shoreline of which <br />some” before is under water. On Page 7 correct spelling of Tschida. <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br />the May 25, 2005 City Council Meeting Minutes as amended. All in favor. Motion <br />carried. <br />IV. CONSENT AGENDA <br />1.City of Centerville May 26, 2005 through June 8, 2005 Claims <br />2.Centennial Fire District through June 3, 2005 Claims <br />3.Centennial Lakes Police Department Monthly Contract - $34,658.00 <br />4.City Hall Building – Gutter Proposals <br />5.Successful Completion of Probationary Period – John Meyer <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve the <br />Consent Agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />V. AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES <br />1. Mr. Paul Burke, Centerville Corporation for Economic Development <br />Mr. Burke addressed Council and reviewed the structure for the Centerville Corporation <br />of Economic Development and the purpose for the Corporation. <br />Mayor Capra this is different than a City’s EDA what is the City’s responsibility and <br />what is this Committee’s responsibility to keep meetings open to the public. <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated he would need to look into this further as he is not sure if <br />this could bind the City financially. <br />Mr. Burke asked for Council resolution supporting this organization not binding the City <br />to anything financially or otherwise. <br />Mayor Capra asked how the EDC feels about dissolving and creating an EDA. <br />Mr. Burke indicated they have not voted on it, but will discuss it at the next meeting. <br />Mayor Capra indicated she would like to hear what members of the EDC want to do and <br />how they feel. <br />Council Member Terway asked if this Corporation would be looking for financial <br />backing for business improvements. <br />Mr. Burke indicated the Committee would be responsible for bringing resources and <br />information to new businesses coming to town. <br />Page 2 of 8 <br /> <br />
