City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 8, 2005 <br />City Administrator Larson indicated the City he came from had three economic <br />development organizations and one was a nonprofit. He then said the benefit of the <br />nonprofit is that they could work to sell potential companies on the City and it is a quick <br />and easy way to get people together quickly, when needed, without the constraints of <br />public meeting regulations. <br />Mayor Capra indicated she would be interested in seeing a model resolution for review. <br /> 2. Mr. Steve McDonald – ABDO, ABDO, Eick & Meyers (2004 Audit) <br />Mr. McDonald addressed Council and reviewed the results of the 2004 Audit. <br />Mr. McDonald indicated that the City maintained an unqualified or clean opinion. <br />Mr. McDonald indicated that Council has the responsibility to ask questions about claims <br />and to monitor the budget since there are only a couple of people responsible for <br />accounting for the City. <br />Mr. McDonald indicated there are no instances of noncompliance. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar to accept the <br />2004 Audit as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 3. Chief Bob Makela, Interim Chief Annual Report <br />Interim Chief Makela presented the annual report to Council for review and consideration <br />noting he is extremely proud of the police staff and the service they provide to the City. <br />Mayor Capra encouraged Council Members to do a ride along if interested. <br />Interim Chief Makela overviewed the technology the department has at its disposal. <br />Mayor Capra thanked Interim Chief Makela for the report and asked him to thank his <br />officers for their service. <br />VI.
