City of Centerville <br />February 2, 2005 <br />Council Joint Work Session Meeting Minutes <br />Peterson stated that the Committee currently has three vacancies <br />and is looking for new members. Vice Chairperson LaBlanc stated <br />that the trails could be the key to the City. He felt that the City had <br />the potential to have more trailways and he would like to see that <br />businesses take advantage of the trailway system. Discussion <br />continued regarding the trailway proposed for connection on the <br />end of Centerville crossing the 35E interchange. Committee <br />Member Peil stated that Mr. Smyser has been invited to their next <br />meeting. She stated that the City of Lino Lakes now has a plan <br />and would like them to share it with Centerville. <br /> <br />Chairperson Peterson thanked Council for their time. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer discussed that there were a large amount of trail bills, <br />matching grants for CSAH14 and bonding issues. Mr. Meyer <br />stated that Centerville may desire to consider other resources also. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer stated that several bills could be drafted for assistance <br />with the City’s portion of the costs associated with the CSAH14 <br />project. Mr. Meyer stated that there is some urgency while <br />working with Representative Ray Vandeever and Senator <br />Bachmann. Mayor Capra stated that this is language that is tacked <br />on to the end of other bills. Council Member Broussard Vickers <br />requested additional information for Council’s next meeting. Mr. <br />Meyer stated that he could put a draft together for Council’s <br />consideration at their next meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that she recently attended a meeting with the <br />County and information will be provided in Council’s packet <br />regarding the County’s plans for the future. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra thanked the Parks and Recreation Committee for <br />their update. <br /> <br />c. Planning & Zoning <br /> <br />Planning & Zoning Commission Chair Person Brian Hanson stated <br />that P & Z’s main goal is ordinances, updating to modern standards <br />and including vision for the City for years to come. Chairperson <br />Hanson stated that additional concerns have been raised regarding <br />the snowmobile ordinance and that has been brought forward due <br />to the weather. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra questioned whether Lino Lakes, Hugo and other <br />community’s ordinances have been taken into consideration. <br />Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br />
