<br />Mr. Palzer explained, east of 20th Avenue is serviced by NSP and west of 20th Avenue is <br />serviced by Minnegasco. However, he sees no benefit in having two gas providers. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber moved and it was seconded to deny the request from NSP and to contract <br />Minnegasco and inform them of the franchise fees. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />1993 Minnesota Magic Midway. Inc. Case No. S4-92-3906 <br />Mr. March explained new developments regarding the status of a 1993 law suit between the City <br />ofCenterville and Minnesota Magic Midway, Inc. <br /> <br />Mr. March reported the City received a letter from PPI (private Protection, Inc.) offering to <br />purchase the outstanding judgement for 10 percent of$2,518. In addition, the Sheriffs' <br />Department indicated the write of execution expires in 180 days. Mr. March questioned Mr. <br />Hellings as to the City's expense to pursue the issue. Mr. Hellings replied about $100. excluding <br />the Sheriffs Department fees. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber recalled Centerville purchased 250 advanced discounted carnival tickets for <br />$2000. However, Minnesota Magic Midway did not show and there was no carnival. <br />Councilmember Buckbee noted, in the past the city exhausted its efforts in an attempt to recover <br />the fees. Mr. March added there is a voided check for $2000 and several letters in the file <br />regarding the City's efforts to recover the fees. Mayor Wilharber polled the Council members. <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner moved and it was seconded to accept the proposal from PPI. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Steve McDonald - Audit Presentation <br />11r. McDonald (Abdo, Abdo, Eick & Myers) gave a report on the 1997 City audit, the <br />management letter and its findings. (EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee moved and it was seconded to acknowledge receipt of the annual audit <br />year ending 1997 and requested a summary of the audit be published in the local paper. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />March 25, 1998 Council Meeting Minutes <br />Councilmember Buckbee moved and it was seconded to approve the March 25. 1998 Council <br />meeting minutes with corrections. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />April 22. 1998 Council Meeting Minutes <br />Councilmember Brenner moved and it was seconded to approve the April 22. 1998 Council <br />meeting minutes. Brenner aye, Buckbee aye, Wilharber aye, Helmbrecht abstained. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />2 <br />
