<br />20th Avenue Update <br />!v1r. Nyberg updated the Council on the 20th Avenue bid results and proposed assessments. <br />Bonine Excavating came in as low base bidder at $508,790.65. Alternative A (Easterly <br />Watermain Extension) was bid at $95,620.00. Alternative B (SCADA/Telemetry System) bid <br />results came in at $86,456.00. Mr. Nyberg explained the proposed SCADA/Telemetry system is <br />designed to sound an alarm if a lift station fails. In addition, Alternative C (Directional boring 8 <br />inch forcemain [between Stevens property and Lake Area Utilities]) was bid at $27,390.00. Mr. <br />Nyberg noted H.R. Green plans to be back before the Council on May 13, with required permits <br />from the Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />In summary, Mr. Nyberg explained the proposed assessments for 20th Avenue north waterrnain <br />and trunk sanitary sewer (Exhibit C). Mr. Nyberg requested the Council's direction on how to <br />proceed with the four assessment options for the public hearing on Wednesday, April 29, 1998. <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner suggested presenting the four assessment scenarios at the hearing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Powers moved and it was seconded to adopt the assessments after the proiect is <br />complete. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />21st Avenue Update <br />!v1r. Nyberg reported the City of Lino Lakes has targeted Memorial Day to complete the <br />temporary road construction on 21st Avenue to assist the opening of the convenience store. The <br />City ofLino Lakes plans to advertise for road construction bids in June and then construct a <br />permanent road. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber inquired about Lino Lakes water and sewer situation for the new business. Mr. <br />Nyberg stated he was not sure. Mayor Wilharber suggested the City of Lino Lakes and the City <br />of Centerville get together and discuss this issue. The Council suggested relaying that the City of <br />Centerville is interested in holding a joint meeting with the City ofLino Lakes. <br /> <br />Performance Automotive Special Use Permit - Proposed building <br />!v1r. March gave an overview of Performance Automotive's special use permit request for a <br />proposed building. Mr. Palzer noted, the City received Performance Automotive's building plans <br />at 4:00 p.m. Councilmember Buckbee questioned the City Engineer if he reviewed Performance <br />Automotive's grading plan. !v1r. Palzer said the City Engineer has not reviewed the grading plans. <br /> <br />!v1r. March referred to a letter dated April 15, 1998 the City received from RO-SO Contracting, <br />Inc. Furthermore, Mr. March reiterated the DaBruzzi Properties interest in selling its building and <br />land to the City for a sale price of $350,000.00. Mr. DaBruzzi noted they would wait or delay <br />construction on the Performance Automotive building until the Council has had an opportunity to <br />discuss the proposal.
