<br />Mayor Wilharber asked Mr. Palzer about the building and its condition. Mr: Palzer replied he <br />toured the facility and felt it would serve the City for the next twenty years. Councilmember <br />Buckbee suggested Staff explore ADA conditions, location and the applicable building design to <br />ensure it is conducive to the city's needs. Mr. Palzer noted the restrooms would have to be <br />looked at for accessability. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee moved and it was seconded to hold a special meeting on Monday, May <br />4, at 5:00 p.m. to discuss the purchase of the DaBruzzi property. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee moved and it was seconded to approve the special use permit contingent <br />upon the engineer reviewing the grading plan. Buckbee aye, Brenner aye, Wilharber aye, Powers <br />nay. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Parkview Development <br />Mr. Nyberg reported on Anoka County Highway Departments right-of-way recommendations for <br />Parkview Development. Mr. Nyberg noted due to time restraints, Anoka County was unable to <br />make written recommendation on Parkview Development for this meeting. However, Anoka <br />County verbally recommended an eighty foot right-of-way on Centerville Road. <br /> <br />Mr. March commented the city has gone against the County's recommendation in the past. <br />Mr. Nyberg recalled Anoka County recommended the Industrial Park have no access off of Main <br />Street. However, the City granted three accesses for the Industrial Park. <br /> <br />Councilmember Powers observed that Centerville Road is wide by Center Oaks and narrow closer <br />into town. Therefore, requesting a wider right-of-way for Parkview would not make sense. <br />Councilmember Buckbee moved and it was seconded to authorize plans and specification for the <br />Parkview Development. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Tri-City Joint Police Commission Representative Selection <br />Mayor Wilharber commented the City received six applicants for the Tri-City Joint Police <br />Commission. Also, the Council interviewed interested candidates on April 21, 1998. <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner moved and it was seconded to appoint Mr. Robert Wright and Mr. Dale <br />Summerhaus to the Tn-City Joint Powers Task Force, and to appoint Mary Jo Helmbrecht as an <br />alternate. Motion carried unanimously. J <br /> <br />Turtleman Triathalon <br />Mr. March explained an organization plans to hold the Turtleman Triathlon event on Saturday, <br />August 15, starting at Turtle Lake Beach in Shoreview. The city received a letter requesting <br />permission for the bike portion of the event to pass through Centerville. The course plan is on <br />20th Avenue and Main Street. Mr. March noted Joel Heckman drove around with the event <br />coordinator and did not foresee any problems. Mr. March added he requested the City to be <br />listed as an additional insured and mentioned they plan to coordinate street sweeping with the <br />County. <br /> <br />6 <br />
